Wesley E. (Wes) Campbell has been involved in the Christian music industry for more than thirty years. Having discovered Aussie pop/rock band Newsboys in the mid-80’s, he was the driving force behind their first American record deal, and subsequent move to America, where he has served as their manager for over 30 years. His guiding hand has maintained their position as one of the genre’s most successful brands, navigating them through three lead singer changes, and the continuing evolution of the music business. Under Campbell’s guidance, the band has achieved record sales in excess of 9 million units. Along with more than 30 “#1” radio singles, including 2010’s #1 Billboard Song of the Year ‘Born Again’, Newsboys has also garnered multiple Dove awards and Grammy nominations.
Throughout his career, Campbell has served in management and executive producer roles for many musical artists. Campbell has also owned and managed several successful businesses including First Company Management, InPop Records and Creative Audio and Light. He developed and operated the concept of an inflatable 3,500-seat dome that was used as an “instant theater” and the first traveling portable music festival venue that was featured on Festival con Dios, The Jessica Simpson “Dreamchaser” Tour and Marty Stuart’s “Electric Barnyard” Tour. Campbell also designs the ever-evolving and mechanically complex stage sets that draw sold-out crowds to every Newsboys show.
